Karakeeb Started as a group of engineers who has a passion for technology and use it to create amazing and cool projects ( some of those projects are really wacky 😀 )
One of our values is to help people to get to know more about technology, how to use it, fall in love with it, and get the most of it.
We hold a variety of workshops at different venues i.e. Jesuit Cultural Center, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria University, and many more.
This program is for families with kids in the age range 5 to 12 years old, this program is held on the weekends, and it allows kids and parents to work together on different projects each weekend, it’s always fun.
This program is for anyone who wants to get started with any new skill, it does not require any technical background or training, just your common sense and your hunger for learning.
You get a basic safety training, and get basic training on various tools and machines, you also work with us on different projects, and workshops, and learn more about our team ethics.
You get limited/supervised access to the space compared to the other levels.
This program is for people who has knowledge and skills, but still willing to learn a few things and help with running things. As a maker you get certain privileges for example:
This program is for highly skilled makers who are dedicated to help people and make the world a better place, at this level you have unlimited access to the space, but you also have responsibilities, like training volunteers, rookie and makers, and you help maintain the tools and machines.
This program is for people who have ideas for projects and want to work on them, yet they don’t have to commit to helping in the space, basically it’s the same access level as the Rookie program but with no commitments.
“A very helpful organization Was there for me when I needed help Helped me understand new things and improve my electronics knowledge through practical skills”
“Karakeeb is a lovely nice place you visit to explore the child inside you”
“My two children spent, may be, their most interesting days in their lives at Karakeeb. Despite their unluckily "weak" Arabic language, Rabab and Mena did their best to explain everything in details and showing by hands and legs and every possible language how things work. My 9 years daughter was just impressed from the simplicity of the aircraft motion.. Elevators and ailerons.. All right! 🙂 my 8 years son discovered his big passion to electronics (!!) he would spend the whole day drawing and connecting circuits.. Marvelous:)) please keep on transferring your knowledge to others and enthusing old and young minds about science.. Good job! Thank you! Ruqaya, Yassin, Sarah and Ahmed.”
“Friendly team, brilliant idea I really enjoyed it and advice everyone with children or without to go there and have a nice time”
“I just loved being at Karakeeb. The whole experience was amazing. The staff are really helpful and passionate about what they do, Karakeeb is a place where you can be creative, productive and have fun all along Can't wait for my next visit!”
